“Phlockings” are held
on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month. Live music
starts at 7 PM. until?
You don’t have to be a
parrot head to attend, but you’ll probably want to join once you’ve
been a part of the party. The parrot heads do great things for many
organizations within our community, their motto is :party with a
purpose”, and that they do. Specifically, the biggest fund raiser
here at Cravings and sponsored by the Parrot heads is our annual
Fiesta Tropicale. Held on the first Sunday in June it’s an all day
event for the whole family.
A variety of donations from
area businesses make up items that are auctioned off throughout the
day. Emcee Jimmy Brown, President of the local chapter donates his
time and talent to motivate the crowd for the live auction portion.
Sue Brown in turn spends hours with other club members making
baskets filled with donated gifts for the silent auction. Activities
such as Kayak races, Best Salsa Contest (dip not the dance), Carmen
Miranda hat contest, just to name a few keeps everyone entertained.
Fiesta Tropicale is held at
Cravings and is one day of fun you don’t want to miss.
Proceeds the past two years have
raised over $10,000 for Camp Good Hope, a Hospice camp organized for
kids dealing with the loss of a loved one. |
